Page 2, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, February 11, 1987 Rev. Mark Moss introduces himself Hello, my name is Mark Moss. I am a recent graduate of Con- cordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Both my wife Susan and I are natives of Minnesota. We come from Minneapolis-St. Paul and so are not strangers to the North canntry. I have spent quite a bit of time camping in Northern Minnesota, especially in the Boundry Waters Canoe Area. When I was younger I saw the western part of Canada on a trip to Alaska through the Yukon, B.C.., etc. A friend and I almost made it to Nipigon once on a bike trip we took from Duluth to Thunder Bay We arrived in Thunder Bay and were low on money so we turned back. I know that we missed what is, probably one of the most beautiful drives in the North coun- try, the drive along the North Shore of Lake Superior. As of November 4, 1986, I have accepted the call to serve as the _ part-time pastor at Immanuel Grace Baptist Church in Schreiber Pastor, Rev. Jim Johnson. I am also a part-time (2-3 days per week) mission worker for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (soon to be the Lutheran Church Canada) in the communities of Ter- race Bay, Marathon and Manitouwadge. I'm the last of a dying breed we used to call the circuit riders- only my horse is my car. This is the first time our denomination has been able to place a permanent ordained minister as a mission worker in this area. No doubt you have noticed a Lutheran presence in years gone by. We hope to now establish a more permanent position and hope to eventually place a second full- time pastor in the Manitouwadge- Marathon area in the future. My job is to establish and build Lutheran congregations in the towns on or above the North Shore. As I mentioned earlier, I am married and my wife's name is Susan. We have been married for eight years and we have three children. Jeremiah is six, Jonathon is four and Marie is two. Susan has her hands full at home as a full-time mother and homemaker. continued on page 5 Mark Moss The War Amps CHILD AMPUTEE PROGRAM For information dial toll free area codes 519, 613, 705, 1-800-268-8821; other area codes dial 1-800-268-8917.
