Renovations approved A total of five capital projects, valued at a total of over $1.26 million for the Lake Superior Board of Education and the North of Superior Roman Catholic Separate School Board, have been approved by the provincial government, ac- cording to an April 9 news release from the Ministry of Education. Schools in both Terrace Bay and Schreiber will benefit from the projects, which were also approved for other school boards in the Thunder Bay area, Education Minister Sean Conway and Northern Development and Mines Minister Rene Fontaine an- nounced in the release. The LSBE has received ID Program on The Schreiber detach- ment of the Ontario Pro- vincial Police is conducting an identification program to help deter bicycle thefts in the area, according to an April 16 news release. "Each year numerous bicycles are reported stolen and in many cases, bikes that are recovered cannot be identified, which results in the item not being returned to the owner,"' the release noted. Starting immediately, residents in areas serviced by the Schreiber detach- ment may apply for a Bicy- cle Identification Sticker. The process is easy, in- volving only two main steps: the name and address of the bicycle's owner, and the make and serial number of the bike. As well as recording the serial number, police will also assign a control number to each bicycle. A retro-reflective sticker will be attached to the bicycle to mark it so all can see you have joined the program. An OPP Constable will be on duty from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 7, 8, and 9 to ID your bicycle. Help stop bicycle thefts, join the "'Ident-A-Bike' program today. This program is be- ing sponsored by the Township of Schreiber.
