No, Mites are not little bugs, but young (5, 6, and 7 yr. old) hockey players. Ter- race Bay Minor Hockey played host to the 2nd Annual Mite Tourna- ment, with teams from Longlac, Marathon, White River, Red Rock (two teams), and Ter- race Bay (three teams). The Terrace Bay Mites were divided into three teams because of the large registration this year. These teams And fun it was were the "Tigers", the "'Lions", and the "Cou- gars". The Tournament is an ""everyone's a winner' type event and all 140 children went home with beautiful medals. Juice and potato chips, given to the hard working players, were the high- light of the day for a lot of the little ones. Rumor has it that some of the children slept with their 'first'? medals on. all night! The theme for this Tournament was "Hockey for the fun of it" --140 little kids showed us all how it's done!
