Teams participating were from Manitouwadge, Marathon, Schreiber and Terrace Bay. At the end of the day Marathon had captured both the girls' and boys' the print shop. divisions. Both teams were undefeated in their matches and they finished with 92 points. In the boys' division, Manitouwadge finished se- cond with 10 points and Terrace Bay was third with 6 points. Manitouwadge finished se- cond with 8 points while Schreiber was third with 4 points. Lake Superior High School students very kind- ly allowed the younger students the use of their gymnasium and many of them assisted in the tourna- ment by coaching and officiating. Ringette Jamboree a Success The North Shore Rec- reation.. Directors' As- sociation presented their first Annual Ringette Jamboree, in Terrace _Bay, the 1984 host Com- munity, on Nov. 23rd, 24th and 25th. Nine communities participated with the at- tendance of 140 girls, ages 6 to 12. The local organization consisted of Terry Bryson - Tech- nical Advisor, Carolyn Waldenberger - Chair- person and Billeting Convenor, Wes Fenton - Multiple Job Convenor, Diane Rennette - Sec- retary, Linda Falzetta - Games Convenor, Caro- lyn McLeod - Equipment Convenor, Leslie Samp - Advertising and Pub- licity Convenor, Betty Ellsworth - meals, Jean Fenton - meals. These people were responsible for securing the many volunteers needed to undertake a project of this size. The Jamboree com- menced Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with an introduct- ory clinic by Maxine Hamilton of the Ontario Ringette Association. This was followed by regularly scheduled Ringette games and spe- cial events at the Rec- reation Centre. Saturday concluded with a deli- cious hot turkey meal at the Moose Hall and a movie in the conference room. Special mention to Reg and Anne Gagg who supervised all our novel- ty bowling events held all day Saturday. Sunday' commenced with games from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by a hot dog and refresh- ment lunch at the Moose Hall. The Jamboree con- cluded with participa tion awards being pre- sented to each girl. It was apparent from the girls' enthusiasm that they all enjoyed participating and the coaches, directors, and parents attending from out of town all expressed their own appreciation and pleasure. The Town of Nakina has agreed to host this event for 1985. Many local businesses and the community (ie. billeting) were totally supportive of this pro- ject for which we extend a very hearty THANK YOU! to each and every one, we will be placing an ad in next week's "News"' listing our con- _tributors.
