Ten year pins presented The McCausland Hospital held it's An- nual Long _ Service Awards Banquet on Oc- tober 20th, 1984, at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. The event was very well attended and very successful. Honoured at this Banquet were Mr. Donald Ross, Executive Director of the Hospital who received his 5 year pin, Mrs. Alice Chepel- sky, RN and Mrs. Irene Kettle, RNA, who re- ceived their 10 year pins. The presentation to Mr. Ross was made by Mrs. Shona Patriquin, Vice. President of the Board of Governors of The McCausland Hos- pital, who in good humour suggested that the Executive Director should develop a policy that he not have to wait another six and a half years to receive his 10 year pin. The Director of Nurs- ing, Mr. Aurele Piche thanked Alice Chepelsky and Irene Kettle for their dedicated and long service to the Hospital and introduced Mrs. Nancy Wilson, Co-or- dinator of the Home Care Program, to pre- sent their pins. Nancy, on behalf of the Hos- pital Board, expressed in both French and Eng- lish sincere thanks to these two exceptional. ladies who have ser- viced the Hospital with a unique blend of dedi- cation and compassion. Mr. Mike Moore, President of the Board of Governors, thanked all staff present for their fine effort and contri- butions to the Hospital during the past year and congratulated them on their achievement and effort which resulted in the Hospital being granted a two year Ac- creditiation Status from the Canadian Council on Hospital Accreditation. He emphasized that only through team work will quality patient care be achieved. An excellent job as M.C. was done by Board Member Gordon Moor- ey. Following the Ban- quet, Partie Sound pro- vided music for the Irene Kettle and Alice Chepelsky were honoured at the Long Service Awards Banquet of The McCausland Hospital. The Board of Governors of The Mc- Causland Hospital con- siders this annual event, the Long Service Awards Banquet and Dance one of the major highlights of the year. It gives the Board an op- portunity to thank those people who have pro- vided long and dedicat- ed service to the Hos- pital. The Hospital is a labour intensive indus- try and it is only through the dedication, hard work, and compassion of it's employees that we attain the level of quality of care for the people of Terrace Bay, Schreiber and Rossport. The Arthritis society recently completed another successful cam- paign. Many volunteers canvassed in the area, realizing $6,124.25. Organizers of the train.
