It Pays Terrace Bay Schreiber | Our Business is helping your business Are Buses Immune? The kids out here in Jackfish have been rid- ing in a nice new school bus - with no seat belts. Ever since the govern- ment made seat belts manditory, we have obediently buckled up. Years previously, what- ever vehicle the kids rode to school in, they were buckled up. Now babies are buckled in. The government wants to save lives and cut down on highway injur- ies. I'll go along with that. I want to protect our family. It's also the law! But not for school buses. There are no belts for the kids to use. Why does the law insist we buckle our kids in our own vehicles? and not in buses? Are buses im- mune from accidents? Things are improving and growing at the Schreiber Public Li- brary. No, not the build- ing, it remains the same. But in many other ways, we're making the library better. For instance, _ the childrens' Story Time has been very well at- tended. Kelly McGuire, Donna Mikeluk and Billie Ann Saarinen have developed a fun pro- gramme with stories, games, songs and finger plays. Everyone seems to have fun and there is always room for a few more. The programme is for children 3-5 and parents can drop the kids at the library at 2:00 p-m. on Thursdays. To further improve our children's = pro- amme, a kind person has donated some toys. We would have them in the library today if we had a toy box. If anyone has a container which could be used as a toy box, please call the li- brary and we'll come to pick it up. Childrens' books are always welcome dona- tions. If you have chil- drens books in good condition please con- sider giving them to the library.
