Junior Citizens Nominations If you: know of a 'good kid'? who de- serves an award for community work, bra- very or striving to over- come a physical limita- tion, nominate them for an Ontario Junior Cit- izen of the Year award before the end of Octo- ber. Bicentennial history books, airline trips across Canada, a recep- tion with Ontario's Lieutenant Governor, plaques and lapel pins are the prizes awaiting Ontario's 1984 Junior Citizens. "We are seeking to honor Ontario's out- standing young people - not just the superhe- roes, but also the good all-round kids who are working today to be- come our leaders of tomorrow', said Dave Wenger of Mount For- est, Chairman of the Junior Citizen program. Nomination forms are available at the Terrace Bay Schreiber News of- fice and the deadline for nominations is October i The Junior Citizen program, co-ordinated by the Ontario Com- munity Newspaper As- sociation, is sponsored by CP Air. Lieutenant Governor John B. Aird is the program's patron and additional support is being received this year from the Bicentennial Program operated by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and _ Recrea- tion. In its first three years, the program received a total of 428 nominations and organizers are hop- ing for a new record in. numbers in 1984. The 12 outstanding nominees and their families will be guests of Ontario Com- munity Newspapers As- sociation at its annual convention in Toronto next 'March, when Lieu- tenant Governor Aird will make the presenta- tions and host a special recéption for the visitors in his Queen's Park suite. Each of the 12 nominees will receive a CP Air ticket to any Canadian destination, a family portrait with the 'Lieutenant Governor, a plaque and lapel pin. Any nominee from previous years who continues in their note- worthy endeavors is eli- gible to be nominated again. One Liquor seizure was made and charges were laid. An incident of a child being bitten by a dog was investigated. Several: thefts occur- red including a theft of a coin collection, theft from an auto, theft of a wallet and theft of a TV which was later found. One person complain- ed of harrassing phone calls. Police investigated a disturbance _ involving out of town and local was charged with speeding. A person was charged with disobeying portable lights at the Bridge. An abandoned _ ve- hicle was removed from the front of the Rec Cen- tre.- Acting upon a com- plaint of a citizen, Police charged a person with Impaired Driving.
