Youth Bowling: We are still taking registrations for the Youth Bowling League. This league is open to girls and boys ages 7 to 15 years. Arena News : The Schreiber Arena officially opened its doors to start the 84/85 season on Monday, Oc- tober 15th. The Rec- reation Department would like to remind all groups to come in and sign for their ice time requests for the season and also that all special event requests must be submitted by Wednes- day, October 31st in writing to the Recrea- tion Office. The Jamboree will take place November 23, 24, 25. Help make it a success. High School Literacy Contest. Canada Post Corpor- ation has announced that high school liter- ary competition is in progress. The compe- tition, which was opened on September 17th, will continue until November 30. The objectives of the competition are to fur- ther public education of Canada Post Corpora- tion by encouraging con- tinued interest, dis- cussion and research re- lating to postal service and the role of the cor- poration within the community and the na- tion while promoting ex- cellence in writing skills within our society. _ Categories of compe- tition include grades ten, eleven and twelve with awards being given to first, second and third place winners in each category. Judging will be done by a panel recruited from universities, com- munity colleges, and private sector company management who will be joined by a represent- ative from Canada Post Corporation. The panel will complete the judg- ing of entries during De- cember, 1984. An- nouncement of winners and presentation of awards will take place in January, 1985.
