When I open- ed the umbrella, to my 'surprise and horror, a bat flew out! Well, one of our staff tried to hit the bat with a broom but with no luck. The bat finally flew away. My friend thought it was a good joke on me. She said that she thought I had bats in my belfry; now: she knew for sure because I had just lost one! But, on Sunday, she opened the umbrella and again a bat - flew out -- I guess we both have bats in the belfry, but we're both happy. This week my "Bite" is really addressed to the Youth of our town. There seem to be en- ough trash cans ar- 'ound town, but there are still a lot of empty pop cans, candy wrappers, potato chip bags etc. on the ground. Be Ae gs One of our town's citi- zens picks up this mess and puts it in her own trash can. Would it be at all possible to place another trash can on the 'sidewalk ear Birch- iwood and Lakeview? Please, all of you who are guilty of littering make an effort to stop throwing your trash on the lawns and in the streets. Take a second. more; walk over to the trash can and deposit your garbage into the cans. Help make your town the cleanest town on the North Shore.-'. Thank you. Until next - week.
