Councillor Houston reported that the Li- »brary will be offer- ing a book award to a gtaduating student of the Lake Superior High School. The. book that will be awarded is an Encyclopedic Diction- ary. Houston also stated that the Jackfish History will not be published as costs for the project will be tremendous. The li- brary will instead place the history into a form of heat sealed pages at a lesser cost. Councillor Ramsey reported that the Police Committee will be meet- ing on July Sth to go over applications receiv- ed for the job of police constable. Reeve Speer stated that approximately 50- SS questionnaires were returned regarding the senior citizen housing survey. The result of the survey showed that ap- proximately 10 units would be required in the future. This does not meet with the Ministry's criteria but Reeve Speer won't let the matter drop. He feels that if only 10 units are need- ed, that the municipality should see that these units are supplied by one means or another. Other Business The installation of the plaque and stone mark- ing the Terrace Bay Cemetery will be looked after immediately. This store will be placed in- side the main gates of the cemetery as soon as the plaque is received. Following adjourn- ment, Council met to discuss the submission of a candidate for the Bicentennial Medal. The public will be inform- ed of their decision shortly.
