It was dirty and dusty; the cover torn, And the pages inside were yellow and worn. Out of this book, there came a message Written in red on one darkened page. : The few little words to all mankind But only one owner had them underlined. They read all too simply; the words of praise They were easy to follow, not like a maze. If only some people had taken time to glance Half this world might have just had a chance. But the world never bothered, not even a minute : 'Very few looked, but there were many that didn't. 'So why don't you turn your eyes to the dust covered book And read those words, just take a look. Those few words and what they said Are just what you need for your daily bread. It said "Let love be your greatest aim." And remember that's why Jesus came. « CLASS "A" -- MECHANIC STAFF We also carry a complete stock of automotive replacement parts. Also get in on Our Shock Deal. Buy 3 and get the fourth one Free. C&D ENTERPRISES Located At: Lot 18 Mill Road Terrace Bay | 825-9582 District Homes for the Aged Report The Board of Man- agement of the Thunder Bay District Homes for the Aged arranged a special meeting on Fri- day, April 28th to finali- ze the appointment of ad Administrator. A selec- tion committee had been, designated to review the forty-one applications and to interview the potential candidates. The Board were able to meet with the proposed applicant and review the operation of the Homes. The successful candi- date, Tom Gash, 'is well known in this field, as he has worked in the City -Homes for the Aged. In his present position as Programme Supervi- sor for the Ministry of Community and Social Services, he works with social agencies in the same Municipalities and Unorganized Areas as the District Homes for . the Aged. Present plans: have been made for Tom ~Gash to start on June 15, 1984. The Board also spent considerable time re- viewing Employee Re- lations. Pinewood Court has two union agree- ments with the Ontario Nursing Association, C.U.P.E., and both are: up for renewal in 1984. The Board concluded. that negotiations are time consuming and' costly for a small home. A major concern to the Administrator in being involved in Negotiations and Employee Rela- tions, leaves less time for resident needs, ad- mission care plans and the general operation of Pinewood Court and Birchwood Terrace. The Board decided to inves- tigate the possibility of employing a person to work on Personnel Rel- ations that would alle- viate the work load on the Administrator. The next Board meet- ing will be held at Birchwood Terrace in EASY.TO.BUILD_--«d; using our components GIANT SCREEN T.V. Terrace Bay. em At a fraction of the Cost of a factory built" set. C. & D.
