"Log" The North Shore Dive Club held their monthly meeting on Friday April 13. A Smelt Social and a camping/diving trip to Gargantuan Bay was planned. Members in- terested should attend the next meeting for final details. It was suggested that the club provide rental equipment to encourage divers who are just start- ing out. If Wintario will assist, then this will be done. Thunder Country Diving and Sports is offering discounts to members of the NSDC. A total of 1,802,000 viewers saw the show. IBC's campaign is aimed principally at changing attitudes to- ward drinking and driv- ing through applica- tions of peer pressure. It's reasoned that friends, relatives and peers can and do influ- ence the actions of loved ones - even in drinking and driving situations. Essential to such a program is some under- standing of how serious- ly Canadians view im- paired driving. Another area of inter- est and concern was information as to what law enforcement and penalties are seen as appropriate for those guilty of driving after CANADA HEALTH DAY The.McCausland Hospital will feature drinking too much. Surprising Results The results are sur- prising. Some exam- ples: 5 -- one in two Cana- dians has driven with a driver who was impair- ed; - nine in 10 Canadians support the concept of police spot checks; - almost half (49. per cent) feel the drinking age should be 21 or higher.
