a Ne Sho uts Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, April 11, 1984, page 7 Tiny Tourney - Super Time Hockey Fans Welcome The Schreiber Junior North Stars will be hosting the Western Junior B Playdowns on April 13th, 14th, and 15th. The teams competing will be Schreiber North Stars, Thunder Bay Hornets, Portage Terriers from Manitoba and the Selkirk, Manitoba Fishermen. There will be eight games in total beginning Friday evening and weekend activities include Beer Gardens Friday night, Saturday and Sunday afternoon and a Dance featuring Nick Deshane will be held Saturday night. Nick will also be at the Friday night Beer Garden. It would be a great weekend of fun and good hockey. Fan participation 'would be greatly appreciated and gladly welcomed. President is Helga Hermes; Sec- retary-Treasurer, Alison Collins; Fund Raising Co-ordinator, Mary Ses- chatelets; Scheduling Co-ordinator, Cathy Cook; Wind-up' Con- venor, Melody Mateev. It was decided that all players wishing to play must have their fees paid before April 14. Team Captains must re- gister their teams at the April 14th meeting at 7 p.m. at the Rec Centre. Players are still needed on some teams and those not on a team who wish to play are asked to call any member of the executive. The age limit for players is 18 years of age. League play will begin in the middle of May and plans are being made for a Kick-Off Dance in June and a tournament later on. The League is in need of Umpires. If you know the rules and would like to Ump please call Cathy Cook 824-2847. On Saturday, March 31, 1984, Schreiber Mi- nor Hockey and the Times News held the Second Annual Tiny Tourney. Boys and girls from: all over the North Shore participated and had a super time. Throughout the day they enjoyed films, hot dogs and great hockey action. Every child went away tired, but a winner as everyone received a gold medal. In each game two "Hardest Working Players'" were chosen by the parents of the opposing team. Kid's Easter Krafts The Recreation De- partment is offering a Kids Easter Kraft Work- shop for children ages 7 to 12 on Saturday, April 14 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. under the instruction of Donna Mikeluk. In this workshop a variety of Easter crafts will be explored. These include printmaking, weaving, collage, egg painting.
