Born in Camper, Manitoba, he came to Schreiber in July of 1947, he was employed by CPR as an engineer, retiring in July, 1979. A member of the Masonic Lodge and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 and enjoyed golfing and curling. Survived bv his wife. Committees will be formed to look after this venture and more infor- mation will be given as this paper receives it. Council then passed the following resolu- tion regarding the Twin- ning with Taiwan and Terrace Bay: Moved by: Dave Speer and Seconded by: Ollie Chapman. Resolved that Where- as 'Taiwan' means 'Terrace Bay' in Eng- lish, and; Whereas to commemorate this kin- ship-in-name and to pro- mote friendship and un- derstanding between the Chinese and Cana- dian people, the Town- ship of Terrace Bay wishes to establish a sisterhood relation- ship with a community in Taiwan, and; Where- as the Town of Tung- Kang and the Township of Terrace Bay desire to establish such a rela- tionship between them, and; Whereas 1984 is Terrace Bay's 25th An- niversary as a Town- ship; Now Therefore Council of the Township of Terrace Bay would like to extend its wel- come to the Mayor and people of TungKang to partake in the anniv- ersary celebrations and a twinning ceremony this summer. Carried. Committee Reports From Councillor Chapman - She reported that the 1984 Pee Wee Hockey Jamboree was a huge success with over 155 boys registered for that weekend. The Recreation bud- get is in the process of being prepared and will then go before the Fi- nance Committee short- ly.
