Saturday noon marked the Pee Wee game of weren't out there to win, but to-have fun playing. Be Terrace Bay vs. Arnprior. They The Terrace Bay Recreation Centre was over-run with Pee Wee Hockey players on Fri- day, February 24th as the eager youths await- ed being placed with a billeting family. After a good night's sleep, they were ready for a very full day of activities which had been planned by the North Shore Rec- reation Directors' Pee Wee Fun Jamboree Committee. The players were ran- domly placed on nine teams. They then played games with other teams including some of their friends with whom they play all year. They also participated in "on ice" workshops to improve their skills. When their Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, March 7, 1984, page 11 Pee Wee fun jamboree a huge success! team was not scheduled to be on the ice, there were other activities planned for them includ- ing "Novelty Bowling"', "Video Games Chal- lenge' and '2x4 A- Go-Go relay Mara- thon". A spaghetti sup- per was prepared at the Moose Hall for their supper on Saturday. On Sunday, there were more games in the arena followed by a hot dog lunch at the Moose Hall. ~ Players from Nakina, Geraldton, Red Rock, Terrace. Bay, Mara- thon, Hornepayne, Wa- wa, Chapleau, and Arn- prior participated in the Jamboree. They were all given souvenirs of the weekend but they will probably not need any reminder of their fun experience. Congratulations to the organizers and spe- cial mention to the gen- erous families who opened their homes to the visiting Pee Wees.
