The girls each invited a guest and had jobs to help pre- pare for the party. Everybody had fun and liked the food. Later on in the meeting we di- vided into two groups and played some games. After the dishes were washed and put away, the meeting was dis- missed and it was time to go home. All in all, I would say that every- body had a good time. He also wanted Coun- cil to look into the possi- bility of hiring a perma- nent full-time town en- gineer. On another topic, he requested that Council should look into provid- ing the senior citizens of Terrace Bay with a facil- ity for a club for seniors, similar to that of the Chimo Club in Schrei- ber. Council will look into this matter more fully. From Councillor Ram- sey: Ramsey reported on his previous meetings in Marathon concerning the Transition House which is designated to be built along the north shore. It has yet to be decided where the home 'will be built and further meetings will establish the site. From Joe Kennedy: Kennedy reported that there was a need for a small snow blower for public works that would attach to their existing tractor plus a cab which could be purchased at the cost of approximate- ly $2,000. Council gave authorization for such a purchase. From Reeve Speer The Reeve discussed a recent meeting with the Fire Department in which he was part of. Many concerns were brought up and then presented to Council. He also read a letter from a concerned citi- zen who was expressing her views over the Township Christmas Party. She felt that this party should be kept strictly for the volunteer people of the town, not for the paid employees. Reeve Speer replied to the letter by saying that all letters are welcomed and that it was indeed a pleasure to receive a complaint letter that was , signed by the author. Other Business Council recently met with the restaurant own- ers and revised their lease. Councillor Chap- man was concerned with one clause in the lease that stated the owner would not be respons- ible for damages incur- red outside his restau- rant for the hours that he would be open during stat holidays. In a re- corded vote, all were in favour of this clause except Councillor Chap- man. She felt that more priority would be given to see that no damages occured if the owner was made responsible.
