Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, November 2, 1983, page 11 classified marketplace Office Hours: Tuesday-Friday 9:00-12:00 1:00-5:00 DEADLINE: FRIDAY NOON Mail your advertisement to P.O. Box 579, Terrace Bay, or bring it to our office at Simcoe Plaza Schreiber Council... continued from page 9 township 'solicitor, re- garding the possibility of regulating the sound- ing of train whistles at the west end crossing of Main Street. Following discus- sion on the timely de- velopment of the R-270 and R-271 area, the clerk was instructed to make a proposal to Fig- liomeni Bros. concern- ing the development of. the east side of Cooks Lake Creek, and to re- quest a meeting in that regard. The proposal to embody conditions . set down by Council and the meeting to be held be- fore Nov. 25th. Council 'reviewed a request of the Rec Com- mittee concerning re- imbursement to M. Godin for the cost of an accounting course with Con College. Council was in agreement with this request. Training Program .. . continued from page 10 Kimberly-Clark's em- ployees. Marilyn is also mak- ing sure that all the trainees are given the legal aspects of a 'first aider' and stated that they will all be given a copy of the legal rulings of such, upon comple- ting the course. The main idea of these rul- ings is that a first aider is responsible to his pa- tient and that he/she do the best to their abili- ties. It is the hope of the mill and the community that this type of preven- tion programme will be- come a permanent part of the work place. Terrace Bay Minor Hockey News The hockey season is (was) underway again for another year. Ninety- eight boys and girls are registered. The breakdown is 36 Mites, 19 Atoms, 20 Peewees, 12 Bantams, and 13 Midgets. Three invitational tournaments are plan- ned for the-year with the first one being held on Sat. November 12th for the Mites (5-7 year olds). These little Gretskys and-Lafleurs of the future should pro- vide plenty of action and excitement. Ice willing, the Ter- race Bay Oldtimers will be putting on a skills clinic for all Minor Hock- ey players this coming weekend. The TBMHA is grateful for this con- tribution by the Old- timer organization. North Shore action be- gins this month, with our Atoms hosting Marathon, Schreiber, and Manitouwadge on November 19th and 20th. One game has been played to date and that was on Sunday, October 23rd, when the Bantams and Midgets from Schreiber and Ter- race Bay were combined and mixed for the first House League game of the year. Following a closely contested game, both fans and players agreed that it had been "'great." The players from all divisions are anxiously awaiting the next games. Ourlast comment is ef special interest for pa- rents and coaches. Dave Fitzpatrick from Hockey Ontario will present an Information Session to- night at 7:00.p.m. in the multi-purpose room in the Rec.
