Schreiber Recreation News Caramat Community Theatre The Schreiber Parks and Recreation Committee will be presenting the Caramat Community Theatre Group on Saturday, August 6th, in the Lake Superior High School gym, beginning at 7:00 p.m. This Amateur Theatre Group is comprised of people ages 6 to 40 years, and stages a series of short skits and entertaining songs. The group has played to large audiences throughout the North Shore. Tickets are available only at the Recreation Office. This is a family evening you will not want to miss. See you there! Although everyone only got about four hours of sleep, the evening was full of fun as the group went roller skating, played in the games room, ate pizza and watched films. Marie, Heron Bay, Longlac and Thunder Bay for a weekend of Prayer Day exercises. Rev. Father Peter 'Groulx of Schreiber called in during the weekend of prayer sessions. Deacons of the church at Heron Bay and the guest speaker Murray Sayer of the Soo, led in the various prayer sessions and Bible reading. The Ladies Aid of the Mission, fed the over hundred delegates to the Prayer session in the Mission's large community centre. Denis Wawa of Sudbury was a guest speaker as well as Mr. and Mrs. J. Andrews, the representative of the Indian bands of Manitoulin Island. Following the readings and prayers, religious instructions were given and the singing of hymns and Indian songs. Alfred Gerow went home to Saskatchewan a happy man after a successful fishing holiday. His brother Eugene Gerow, insisted on being his guide on the many fishing trips. The largest fish Alfred caught was a ten lb. - 2 oz. lake trout. The day following this event, he took his niece Cathy Gerow along for the trip. Guide Eugene and her father instructed her how to attach the lure and worm to the line. Believe it or not, Cathy equaled her uncle Alfred by hauling in a lake trout exactly the same weight as the one he. caught the day before.
