The Schreiber Parks and Recreation Department is hosting an Invitation Senior Ball Hockey Tournament on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14. Teams from towns throughout the North Shore will battle for the coveted championship trophies. Admission is free. So come out and support the Schreiber Players. On Wednesday, July 20, ten children enjoyed a free supervised swim at the Travel Rest Pool. Lots of splashing and laughs for all. A canoe-camping trip has been planned for August 3rd and 4th. Any youth age 12 to 15 years interested in parti- cipating, are encourag- ed to register at the Drop-In Office today. Tot Drop-In The Tot Drop-In pro- gram has proven to be a highly successful and enjoyable program. Children of ages 4 to 8 enjoy a variety of fun activities every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Activities have in- cluded games, crafts and swimming. On Tuesday, July 19, twenty-eight tots went on an exciting and in- formative field trip to the local O.P.P. station. O.P.P. Corporal Burton and Constable Roland were most helpful in making the tour an ad- venture. Tots were shown the police cars, jail cells, hand cuffs and the courthouse. The North Shore Rec- reation Directors will be sponsoring a Sports Fest on Wednesday, August 3rd in Manitouwadge. The event will feature soccer, tennis, base- ball and track and field activities. Twenty boys and girls of ages 8 to 10 years can participate in this unique and exciting event. Members of the Summer Fun staff will chaperone / supervise the children throughout the event.
