Kim, who comes from Schreiber, said he often thinks of his playing time at home in the "old Arena'"' and of how his solid base of hockey was given to him in Schrei- ber. He thanked indi- viduals for their effort in keeping hockey going in Schreiber and hoped that someday some of our young players would make the Big League. Des D'Driscoll, Lea- gue president and Mas- ter of Ceremonies, thanked all those invol- ved for making the 82-83 season the success it was and then called on Team Captain Mark Campbell for a few words. IN MEMORY OF TOM McGRATH FOUNDER OF THE CASQUE SECTION OF THE VOYAGEURTRAIL, WHO LOVED TO HIKE THIS TRAIL. V. T.A. BOARD MAY 1983 ISLES Memorial plaque for Tom McGrath The Sault Ste. Marie based Voyageur Trail Association will be erec- ting a bronze plaque on Mount Gwyn in memory of Tom McGrath. Mc- Grath was instrumental in the building of the hiking trail between Ter- race Bay and Rossport- now known as the Cas- que Isles trail. He was tragically killed in an automobile accident. In a statement the Association said, 'A bronze plaque will be placed at the top of Mount Gwyn on the Casque Isles Section of the Voyageur Trail to commemorate Tom Mc- Grath who was the in- spiration behind that section and club. This decision was made unanimously by the Voy- ageur Trail Association Board."' "*The actual plaque is bronze and measures 29° by 38 cm. Because the cost of this plaque ap- proaches $400 we are asking our members to consider making a dona- tion towards this. By doing so, they will be directly partaking in the commemoration of a truly fine young man, and would be assisting in alleviating the finan- cial drain that this has" placed on the Associa- tion".
