by JUDIE COOPER Barry and Beth Fel- linger bring a host of talents and interests to their new community of Terrace Bay. Pastor Fellinger has taken on the ministry of the Ter- race Bay Gospel Assem- bly following the recent departure of former Pastor John Laari. "We're enjoying our new community. The pace of life is quite a change from Hamilton. The clean air is great. The scenery points out that this really is "God's ' country'. We like small towns very much," comments an enthu- siastic Pastor Fellinger. Both Barry and Beth are 1981 graduates of Peterboro's Eastern Pentecostal Bible Col- lege, with Barry having the added distinction of being class valedictor- ian. Both are avid read- ers and active writers, the most recent publica- tion being one of Barry's in the PAOC magazine. Both are fluent in several contemporary languages such as French and. German and also skilled in Greek and Latin. Other interests include astronomy, and bolf for Barry and camp- ing for Beth, which both thoroughly enjoying many sports. Barry is a member of a _ whole family of successful golfers. Two of his cousins received golf scholarships in the Unit- ed States. A continuing interest for Barry is the study of revival from an historical perspective. After graduation, Barry worked as the assistant pastor at West- dale Pentecostal Church in Hamilton for one and one-half years. Beth took on the position of Christian Education Di- rector. They -were con- tacted by Pastor Laari in November of last year Birchwood Auxiliary meeting The January meeting of Birchwood Auxiliary was held on the 6th in St. Andrews Chuch, Schreiber. Chairing the meeting Pam Jones thanked the executive of the past season. for. a very successful year,, 1983 elections were held with the following results: President - Pam Jones, Vice President - Georgina Davis, Secre- tary - Peggy Thomp- son, Treasurer - Estelle Wallwin, Corresponding Secretary - Lillian Belli- veau. A motion was passed to officially change the Auxiliary name from Pinewood-Birchwood to Birchwood Auxiliary. Membership fees for the Provincial Auxiliary were to be paid. On January 13th Birchwood Auxiliary held a Get Acquainted Tea in the Recreation Room at Birchwood Ter- race. The guest speak- er, Allison Hill-Neufeld, Co-ordinator of Volun- teer Services from Pine- wood Court, spoke to the membership and _ visit- ors on the very many ways a volunteer can s ways a volunteer can assist in enhancing the life of a resident. She described the various roles offered by volunteers at the moment, such as assisting at the senior bowling league where help is badly needed in scoring. Bowling has been such a popular in- novation this season, many attempting re- training of a limb in order to do so: The quilt material has been purchased by the Auxiliary and with the completion of top sew- ing will soon be set up on a quilting frame in Birchwood Terrace.
