This will happen on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Tower hall of the Town office. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 will host a series of tournaments in ping pong, shuffleboard, pool for persons aged 10-13 yrs on Sunday the 11 at the Legion Hall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Kinettes are busy wi th setting up the Queen contest. esscsccnces The girls will sell buttons and tickets and this will determine the Queen. All contestants will be at the Pre-Teen and Teen dance Friday evening for the Crowning. The Schreiber Metis Association are looking after the road hockey and broomball tournaments, please contact Leo Tookenay and Rita Tookenay. The adult dance will be on Saturday at the High School. Motorbike races are being looked after by Mike McGuire ard Dan McGrath. Please contact either for entering and details. There will be a lot of games and races for the younger set on Friday and again a family affair on Saturday. It is our hope that the student council will bring their festivities in with the community. Keep watching these panes for further details and advertise- ments. NORTH SUPERIOR SKI CHALLENGE: This will be held on Sat. Feb. 24, 1979 and is open to all recreational skiers. Starting time is 10 a.m. Registration forms are available at recreation office or from Tom McGrath. ARENA UPDATE: The monies are really coming in from all sources, to this writ -ing we have: $81,467.63 in cash; still to come are personal pledges of $15,917.50; Corporate pledges $21,100; Payroll de- duction (old and new) $9,271.00. To date for February a total of $1833.50 has been reached. There are several activities happening; Winter Funfest, 50/50 draw for trip to Las Vegas see Norm Boon, a raffle being run by Barb O'Brien, canvass from door to door, hockey pools by Evelyn Thrower. Please support the above projects! The 1977-78 Bantam hockey team donated $400.00 from their jacket drive raffles. They did this because of falling short of the objectives. The Miller rink consisted of Charlotte and Andy Miller, Lorraine and Leonard Huard. Second in the first event: Birch Motors with Skip Geof Birch Y Edie Birch, Terry Birch and Bruce Thompson. UCW TO HOST WORLD DAY OF PRAYER The Schreiber United Church Women will be hosts for the World's Day of Prayer on March 3rd. The group will be going to Birchwood Terrace on Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. to play Penny Auction with the residents. All members | are to bring 2 prizes and some cookies or cupcakes and be at | the Church at 1:30 to get a ride to Terrace Bay. The Least Coin | was collected and the devotional period was conducted by Pres. Beth Macadam. | Minutes of the past meeting and the Treasurer's statement were read and accepted as read by Marg Spillane and Gwen Hadley. | Keith Scott will be a guest at the April meeting and will show | slides of historical spots in Scotland. ; The members agreed to help with a dinner in conjunction with other Church groups at the Winter Carnival early in March.
