FEBRUARY 14, 1979 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 15 's SCHREIBER PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE ° CONFEDERATION COLLEGE PROGRAMS: We were pleased to hear that the cross-country ski clinic held on Feb. 2, 3, and 4 was a success. Ten people had regist- ered. Everyone seemed to have learned a great deal and most of all had fun. SOCIAL AND MODERN DANCING: Are your dancing shoes ready for Sunday, Feb. 18, Monday, Feb. 19 and then again on Sunday Feb. 25, and Monday, Feb. 26. 'It will be held at the Holy Angels School gym. Register now at the recreation office. Times will be forwarded to you as soon as we receive such information. [NCOME TAX WORKSHOP: This workshop will take place at the Public School Library on Friday, March 2nd, evening and Saturday, March 3. We have not received times nor the.registration fee. Anyone interested please give us your name at the recreation office. We have not received any new information about Chinese ing (basic and advanced), Child Development Studies, Brick- laying. FOUR-WEEK PROGRAM: : We are halfway through this program. All teams are doing good and having a good time. Grade 3 § 4 Girls Team B and Boys Team A had a win on Feb. 5. Gr. 5 & 6, Team A and Team D also had a win on Feb. 6. Gr. 7 & 8, both boys team took wins over the girls. Next week the girls will take the victories! The second four week program will be on its way in a couple of weeks. Grade 3 & 4 will have soccer, Gr. 5 & 6 will have floor hockey and Gr. 7 & 8 will have basketball. Register now at the recreation office. Deadline is Fri. Feb. 16, CRAFT PROGRAM: Will be off the ground on Thurs. Feb. 22 at the Public Scho- ol (Art Room). Starts at 7 p.m. ti11 9 p.m. Girls and Boys from 8-14 yrs old are welcome. Instructresses will be Donra Mikeluk and Mrs. Darlene Ejorklund. Crafts such as macrame, Ia) oJ ok- candlemaking, crockheting, knitting plus a lot more interesting crafts will be offered. Anyone interested please register at the recreation office before Thurs. Feb. 22. |f anyone is will -ing to instruct, assist or supervise please feel free to do sa SCHREIBER WINTER FUNFEST: The second meeting for the organization of the Winter Fun- fest was held on Thurs. Feb. 8, 1979. All activities will be held on the weekend of March 9, 10, 11,-1979. Snow sculptures will be looked after by the Ontario Provin- cial Police. This is a family affair, please notify the Police office of your entry; in this way judging will be done on your entry Saturday morning. Schreiber Kinsmen will look after the Kangaroo Kourt and will sentence persons on Saturday. Further. details are to be developed. BENO'S VISIT TO THE BAHAMA ISLANDS: On the 18 of January Mr. Beno went to the Bahama Island. He took a plane from Thunder Bay to Toronto. He took another plane to Miami, Florida. He took a small plane to the Bahama |sland. He had to be checked just i'n case he had weapons. Then he went to Hopetown by ferry. He and his friend Mr. Wise rented a sailboat for 8 days and they sailed around the bays. He saw people in other countrys, what they are Tike, and learned about what they eat. When he went to a hotel he asked for the keys but they sai d that they don't have keys because nobody steals. Our Class at Holy Angels School, Schreiber enjoyed his visit as we have just finished a study of Oceanography in Envi ron- mental Studies and a unit on Jesus And The Fishermen.
