FEBRUARY 7, 1979 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 3 SCHREIBER-TERRACE BAY CHILDREN'S WORKING GROUP A meeting of the Schreiber-Terrace Bay Children's Working Group took place last Monday, January 29th at Holy Angels School. Participants discussed a draft proposal for a Gener alist Worker in the local area. The function of such a work- er would be the prevention of problems and support to children in Schreiber-Terrace Bay. A primary method of achieving this would be to maximize the strengths of existing agencies through co-ordination of their services. Also attending were Sister Shirley Caicco and Mr. Bob Cannon of the Thunder Bay Children's Services Working Group who discussed the implemen- tation of such a program. This would be tied into a network system of other communities with Generalist Workers along the North Shore and district area. Participants at the meeting gave unanimous approval to the propessl for such a co-ordina- tor in a network system. Preparation of a final proposal to be submitted to the * Thunder Bay Children's Services Working Group is underway. Representatives from local communities (Cathie Kutcher was elected) will then be working with the Thunder Bay Children's Services Working Group to develop a district proposal. This will take some time to develop a network concept encompassing the different communities and their needs, and to meet the criteria as set down by Queen's Park. Another meeting of the Schreiber-Terrace Bay Children's Working Group will be held when the district proposal has been completed.
