PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS JANUARY 24, 1979 FIGURE SKATING NEWS On Saturday, January 20th, eighteen skaters representing the Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club travelled to Manitouwadge to participate in the North Shore Inter-Club Competition. Other clubs attending the competitions were: Fort William, Nipigon, Port Arthur and the host club Mani touwadge. After leaving here in the early morning hours, the skaters arrived in Manitouwadge to begin competing at 8:30 a.m. Local skaters successful in winning either a Silver, Gold or Bronze medal are as follows: Martin Saranpaa, Bronze, Juvenile Men's Singles Division; Paula Bouchard, Bronze, Juvenile Ladies Singles; Tracy Clark and Paula 'Bouchard, Gold, Juvenile Ladies Dance Pairs; Eleanor Depoalo and Laurie Pollard, Silver, Juvenile Ladies Dance Pairs Cheryl Prill and Jennifer Kodila, Gold, Novice Ladies Dance Pairs; Darlene Woods, Bronze Intermediate Ladies Dance Solo; Carrie Pytyck, Bronze, Novice Ladies Singles. The clubs competing score points during the event with the (07 8]=) & Nipigon club winning the trophy and Manitouwadge and Terrace Bay placing second and third respectively. A11 the skaters who took part are to be commended for their of smaller participation. Special congratulations to all the winners. The Mothers who took time and drive the skaters to this event are to be thanked most sincerely. This is _- the event where all the skaters have an opportunity to compete "(2 oe] go)" [0-H and have fun.
