JANUARY 10, 1979 TERRACE BAY NEWS MIKUS - SMITH VOWS EXCHANGED As On December 2nd, 1978 at 3:00 p.m. in the Terrace Bay Comm- unity Church, Nora Lee, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mikus and Leonard Paul, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith of Anderson, California exchanged marriage vows. Reverend Brian Bigelow officiated. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white floor-length gown with a high pointed wajst, a sheer net yoke highlighted with embroidery and a mandarin collar, Butterfly- pleated sleeves and overskirt. An over-the-face waist-length veil hung from a beaded, embroidered cap. The maid of honour, Veronica Hermes, wore a mauve jersey gown with a blouson top, gathered, split sleeves and a Butter- fly-pleated skirt. The bridesmaids, Mary Pat Ramsay and Linda Regis, were similarly gowned in cinnamon. The groom was attended by Gary Simmer, the Best Man; Kenneth Turner and Ralph Regis. Ushers were Gordon Smith and James Mikus. The reception-dinner and dance were held at the Canadian Legion Hall. Reggie Rennette acted as Master of Ceremonies. The wedding cake, baked by the groom's mother, was cut with the bride's great-grandmother's cake knife, tied with lace from her grandmother's wedding gown. Following a trip to Duluth, the couple are now residing at 571 Lakeview Drive, Terrace Bay.
