By-Law No. 320, being a by-law to authorize paying of expen- ses of members of council officers and servants was read a fir st, second and third time and finally passed. R. Cornfield and J. Clancy have been authorized to travel to Toronto to inspect a used "Wayne" street sweeper. Council will purchase a new International TDS8E Crawler Tractor from Vulcan Machinery Ltd. as per tender amount of $43,472.94, and a used trailer at a price of $2,300.00 plus tax. This is to be a 1979 expense. Tom Tack was re-hired as first class constable effective December 15, 1978. A motion was passed to request Ontario Hydro to provide main- tenance of our electrical system on a per customer basis plus payment at established rates for work performed. Charles Moore has been put on permanent staff as a utility person. By-Law 321, being a by-law to authorize paying off denbent- ure by-law 226, was read a first, second and third time and finally passed. A motion was passed stating that any person or group of per- sons wishing to approach Council must submit a written request prior to the sending of the agenda at noon on the Thursday pre- ceeding the council meeting. ° RECREATION DEPT. WEEKLY REPORT JUNIOR BOWLING: Junior Bowling will resume for its last two weeks on Sunday, January 14th, at 2 p.m. for the junior group and 3:30 p.m. for the senior group. We hope to operate a tournament in early January for the senior group. GYMNASTICS: ATT details on junior girls gymnastics and on boys gymnas- tics will be forthcoming in the next issue of the Terrace Bay News. We are still interested in having more boys register for the gymnastics programme. To do so, contact the Recrea- tion Office at 3542. PUBLIC SKATING AND NO-BODY-CONTACT HOCKEY: For times and dates on these two activities, please refer to the arena schedule as published in this issue.
