The lessons you can take are free skating, dances and patch (figure eights). Free skating is the hardest lesson you can learn or well | think so. Dances are hard to learn at first because you don't know the steps yet. Patch is hard too but | Tike all the Tes- sons. "WHY | LIKE SKATING" - Karin Brassard (Age 9) | enjoy figure skating because | Tike to do spins, solos and spirals. | also enjoy it because | Tike to do dances and when we go to Nipigon and other places, | meet other girls of all ages, and | also enjoy having fun competitions when we can win ribbons. | like figures also but not as much as doing free skating and dances. "WHY | LIKE SKATING" - Carrie Pytyck (Age 13) As the wind whistles by me, | dodge younger skaters first to the left and then to the right. As | come to a halt my coach smiles at me and says that | did very good. Starting my solo for the second time, happy thoughts run through my mind. | think of how much | Tike this sport, | think of how much | like it, not just because figure skating is fun, but because it makes me feel happy. Figure skating is a sport which | enjoy very much. | get to enter various competitions that let me prove my ability in this enjoyable sport, as well as meeting new competitors and friends.
