CHIMO CLUB HOLDS CHRISTMAS PARTY A pot luck Christmas Dinner was served on December 15th, when members of the Chimo Club sat down to attractively decorated tables, in the Yuletide theme. Convener was Mrs. Winnie Campbell with committee Marg Spillane, Bern Jacomb, Beth Macadam and Alice Sparkes. Treats for the party were received from Mr. Ed Bourgeois of The Bay, Costa's Foodateria and Schreiber Foodmarket. All were very much appreciated and enjoyed. Greetings were receiv- ed from Town Council and many friends, far and near. After a dinner a short business meeting was held with Fred Harness presiding. The members decided to meet December 19th at Chimo and go to Birchwood Terrace to visit the folks at the home, and take Christmas treats for them. Members were in favour of advertising the 1979 Christmas Bazaar on the Kinettes Calendar. Mr. B. Paradis won the last home bingo, lucky number winners were Mr. D. May, Mrs. C. Gorman, Mrs. E. Harness. Another Bingo will start in January. At 9 p.m. Santa made his appearance and a gift exchange took place, the evening was spent playing games, shuffleboard, contests and cards, followed by Tunch. HELEN HARNESS, JOHN CLARKE - EXCHANGE VOWS Helen Linda Harness, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harness, Schreiber and David John Clarke, Gabriola, B.C. were married in St. John's Anglican Church, Ottawa on September 16th at 7:30 p.m. . Helen, given in marriage by her father wore a floor length white jersey vogue tunic, with mao collar, over matching pants, wrapped at the waist by a sash, the outfit made by the bride. The matron of honour, her sister, Sylvia Stortini and bridesmaid Martha Connolly, wore match- ing salmon tunics over rust jersey pants. All three carried Japanese fans, a gift from the groom. The groom was attended by Peter Washburn, Bestman and James Ross. A reception followed at the Ottawa Curling Club where the couple had met. Buffet and dance followed. A lovely toast to the bride was given by her uncle, Alvin Slater, and the groom responded. The bride's father welcomed David to the family and the guests to the wedding. The wedding cake which was made by the bride's nother, was cut with a Gourka knife which had belonged to Grandfather Harness. The couple honeymooned in California before travelling to Tokyo, Japan, where the groom is employed at the Canadian Embassy. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. J.
