Mrs. Jack (Christina) Copeman and her son George of London are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Norman Bottomley. COMMUNITY SHOWER HONOURS BRIDE ELECT Miss Helen Harness of Ottawa was honored at a community shower-tea held in the Anglican Church hall on July 19th when Mrs. F,V, Harness, her mother, and Mrs. Cora Dunwoody receiv 4 with her. v The servitors were Mrs. Patti Moon, Mrs. Faye Figliomeni, Mrs. Hartley McKay, Mrs. Norma Gusul, Mrs. Norma Duffy and Miss Terry Lynn Birch. Mesdames Mavis Slater, Colleen Glad, Ruth Ann Birch and Susan Glad replenished. The guests were attended by Kristine Stortini and Michelle Dunwoody attended the guest book, and the gifts were opened by Mrs. Sylvia Stortini and Miss Ora Mae Harness, both of Sault Ste. Marie. Ruby Rebekah Lodge No. 279 The N.G. Mrs. Winnie Clemens and V.G, Mrs. Gladys Hamilton presided for the regular meeting of Ruby Lodge. Mrs. Bern Whent visiting here after a winter spent in Florida was welcomed. Mrs. Hamilton reported for the Sick & Visiting Committee. Mrs. Mavis Slater gave a report of her attendance at the District Meeting with Mrs. Georgina Davis. Forty-three Past Noble Grands were present at the meeting. Mrs, Mar- garet Johnston was installed as District Deputy Pres., receiving her Collar of Office from the past D.D,P. Mrs. Loretta Sinclair. Mrs. Elsie Mork was elected to the office of District Secretary-Treasurer, Mrs. Slater won the attendance prize. Following the meeting the members enjoyed .a social hour in the lower hall. The Annual United Nations Bus Tour of forty-three students and tour leaders were present at a luncheon on Tuesday, July 11th in the United Church hall. The members Ruby Rebekah Lodge catered to the luncheon. Head table guests were Mrs, Winnie Clemens, Mrs. Mavis Slater, Mr. Alvin Slater and Reeve Harold McParland. The students represented cities and towns from the State of Washington U.S.A. and from Victoria B.C. across the western provinces and Thunder Bay, Ont. They joined in singing a song dedicated to all the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodges.
