ASSOCIATION FOR MENTALLY RETARDED: The Schreiber-Terrace Bay Association for the Mentally Re- tarded, re-elected Kay LeBlanc as president at their annual meeting held in the Parish centre in Schreiber. The position of vice president is still not filled but others elected were Norah McGuire, treasurer; Rita Allen, corresponding secretary; Lois Gilmour, recording secretary; Anne Johnson, publicity chai man. Mrs. LeBlanc, who presided, gave her annual report and stated this Branch will host the Lake Superior Regional meeting in September. She said thal speakers are available to other associations wishing to know more about the work carried on and their aims. : An appeal is being made for more active members. Lois Gilmour introduced-the guest speaker, John Foulds of Nipigon who is an.Adult Protection Service Worker. Mr. Foulds described his role in councelling, directing people to the pro- per governement sources and in general looking after the needs of retarded persons 18 years of age or over. ; : A film on Normalisation was shown, followed by questions and answers. Lunch was served by Mary Commisso and Kay LeBlanc. Uh Lucy Racioppi was entertained at a community shower-tea off ~ May 12th in St. John's Anglican Church Hall. Receiving with her were Mrs. Nick Racioppi, her-mother and Mrs. Brenda Harvey of Red Rock. ; The servitors were Linda Huard, Johanne Lapointe, Erin Bourke, Lynn Drake, Mrs. Linda Bryson and Mrs. Jewel Riley. Replenishing were Mesdames Betty Huard, Audrey Morgan, Betty-Ann Klassen, Lil Mills and Lola Spadoni. The gifts were opened for display by Colleen MacDonald.
