PAGE 8 ; TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 8, 1978 8 SKICADE VISITS SCHOOLS Skicade is a van with two ski technicians who visited Holy Angels School on January 31st and St. Martin School on Feb, 1st, promoting the healthy lifetime sport of alpine and cross-country skiings There are four vans in Ontario who will introduce the sport to more than 50,000 students this winter. The in-school presentation to Grades seven and eight of both schools comprised of both an in class oral presentation as well as a' practical experience Skicade is offered free of charge to senior and elemen tary schools in the province through the financial co-operation of Wintario, Sears, FMH Limited, a distributor of ski equipment, General Motors and Shell. Ontario Ski Council is a non-profit organization whose ob- jective is to serve the needs of all ski organizations in the province and is responsible for the development and extension of the sport, to all residents, The Ontario Ski Council is a member of Sport Ontario and is supported by the Sport and Fit- ness Division of the Ministry of Culture and Recreation. CLUB HOLDS FUN COMPETITION A fun competition was held by the Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club on February 4, 1978, with participants from Schreiber and Terrace Bay clubs. Judges for the day were: Mrs, M, Hamilton, Mrs. S. Opas, Mrs. Ge Miller, Mrs. P, Jones, Mrs. B. Hanley, Mrs. Ae Wilkes and Mrs. Se Hurley. Each skater was placed on a team; team standings were: Charlie's Angels, captain Jane Colbey-Hara first; Muppets, captain Heather Saranpaa second; Silver Blades, captain Nancy Geralch third. Results of the individual events are as follows: Interpretive = Beginners 1 - Kathleen.
