FEBRUARY 8, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 11 ZWARESH: The funeral of the late Mr. Alexander Zwaresh, age 18 years, resident of Rossport, who passed away in McCausland Hdspital on Monday January 23rd was held in Rossport on Thursday, January 26th from St. Berchman's Roman Catholic Church. Reve Jo Meyer officiated for the Requiem Mass and the Holy Angels choir was in attendance. Mre Zwaresh was born and educated in the Ukraine and came to Canada at an early age when he stapted to work for the CePeRe as a sectionman. He worked at different points until finally settling in Rossport about forty-five years ago. : He was predeceased by his wife, Euthenia in 1961. He was a member of St, Berchman's Roman Catholic Church and his home and family were his main interest Surviving him are two sons - Stanley of Terrace Bay and Lorne of New York. He has other relatives in Cleveland, Ohio and in the Ukraine and ten grandchildren, Pallbearers were Romeo Bouchard, |sadore Ray, Harry Tympko, M. Hubelit, Mike Smilsky and a grandson, Edward Zwaresh. Interment was in St. Berchman's Church cemetery at 'Rosspor te DISTRICT HEALTH UNIT At the January meeting of the Board of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, Russel Vibert was re-elected Chairman, Nancy Myers was re-elected Vice- Chairman and Chairmam of the Finance Committee. Other appointments included Charles Johnston - Chairman of Personnel and Public Relations, and Doris Freeman, Chairman of the Property Committee. With extreme reluctance the resignation of Doctor Pickersgill, the Medical Officer of Health, was accepted. Doctor Pickersgill will shortly be married and will no longer reside in Ontario. The Board exres- sed their thanks to Doctor Pickersgill for her eight years service and wihsed her much happiness in her forthcoming role as Mrs. Jane Baird. NEW MEMBERS IN CHIMO CLUB Thirty Three members attended the January meeting of -the Chimo Club in Schreiber. Helen Wallace, presi- dent, welcomed Frank and Sara Byrne, Lena and Edwin Holmes and Mona and-Charlie Holmes as new members. Charlie has alpeady taken on the duty of maintenance chairman. On January 13th, fourteen members went to visit residents in Birchwood Terrace, taking boxes of oranges and chocolates. They enjoyed a lunch arranged by Eva" Haughn, Dora Weaver and Mary Chadwell, Jeo Tristram, of Northern Affairs, .sent word he is willing to assist senior citizens with their income tax forms.
