Only the tax or rent paid in respect of your principal residence may be included. The sales tax credit may be claimed by all individuals resident in Ontario on December 31, 1977. Exceptions: Persons under 16, persons claimed as dependents for income tax pruposes by any other person resident in Ontario, The Pensioner Tax Credit may be claimed by all individuals resident in Ontario on December 31, 1977, who are age 65 or over, except for a married couple where both ape 65, only the spouse with the higher taxable income is entitled to claim.
