VOL. 20 No. 30 AUGUST I0, 1977 20¢ PER COPY { LAKEHEAD SHRINE CLUB CARAVAN TO TERRACE BAY On Saturday, August 13th, 1977, the Lakehead Shrine Club of Khartum ~ Temple, Winnipeg, will be in Terrace Bay for the purpose of- presenting a piece of special equipment to the Children's Ward of the McCausland Hospital. | The Shriners of America have accepted the sponsoring and financial operating of nineteen Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children and three Shriners Burns Hospitals in North America and Hawaii. Since organ- izing in 1922 the Hospitals have treated in excess of 183,000 children for Orthopedic and Burns disabilities. In addition to operating the Crippled Children and Burns Hospitals the Shriners donate necessary equipment to Childrens' Wards in local and district Hospitals. A number of the Units of the Lakehead' Shrine Club will be attending the presentation and will parade in front of the Shopping area at ap- proximately 1:30 p.m., prior to the presentation at the Hospital. Noble Bert Knox, President of the Lakehead Shrine Club, is cordially inviting all Freemasons in Terrace Bay and Distriet to attend a sympo- sium in the Terrace Bay Masonic Temple at approximately 3:00 p.m., following the presentation. WINTARIO GRANTS - Two District of Thunder Bay libraries will each receive grants of $2,000. The Terrace Bay Public Library will use the funds towards the purchase of materials for the handicapped while ionglac No. 77 Indian Band library will purchase Canadian Books and materials.
