PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 29, I977 THE NORTH OF SUPERIOR DISTRICT R.C.S.S. BOARD MEETING: The North of Superior District R.C.S.S. Board held its regular meeting on Saturday, June 18th, 1977, in Our Lady of Lourdes School Manitouwadge. Approval was given to the minutes of the regular meeting held May 28th, 1977, and to the payment of cheques for May, 1977. The Director gave a brief resume of the Aims and Objectives Committee Meeting held June 3-5, 1977. The Director and the Superintendent of Business advised the Board of the necessary changes being made with the relocation of the. Thunder Bay office to Schreiber. Mr. Courtney will not be making the move and, as a result, the following motion was passed: - that the resignation of Mr. Jerry T. Courtney, Superin- tendent of Business and Treasurer, be accepted with regret, effective 1977 08 31. Mr. Courtney was commended by the Board for his fine work as the senior business official and was thanked for all his time and effort he has provided since the Board's amalgamation. The Chairman of the Manggement Committee ref -ported to the Board that the Summer Works Program was well underway. The Superintendent of Business presented his Treasurer's Report covering the following - St. Martin's School - the Architect has in- spected the addition and reports that the de- veloping cracks are not the result of the structure; - Custodial Workshop - a report will be issued on the recent workshop in Ter- race Bay; - other issues for the area were also discussed. A letter was read from the Recreation Com- mittee of Terrace Bay indicating the donation of the playground equipment now located at St. Martin's School. a It was recommended that a series of lectu- res be held in each community next year on the changes in the Church. As per Board policy, no regular meetings of the Board will be held during the months of July and August and the next regular meeting will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 1977 in St. Edward's School, Nipigon.
