PAGE 16 SCHREIBER CREDIT UNION HOLDS 26th ANNUAL MEETING George Gordon, vice president, presided for the 26thAnnual Meeting of the C.P.R. (Employees) Schrei -ber Credit Union Limited. The meeting and social evening were held in the town hall. A moments silence was observed in memory of two recently deceased members, Con Duggan and Lloyd Small. 3 Mr. Gordon also voiced the regret of the Union in losing their president, R.W. Turner, who has been transferred to Montreal by C.P. Rail. Mr. Gordon presented the Board of Directors' Re- port whose recommendation that a dividend of 8%% be declared on the minimum quarterly balance was adopted Wayne Wilson was elected and Stanley Kusik re- ; elected to the Board of Directors, W.G. Gerow was re-elected to the Advisory Committee. Reports of various committees - Credit, Supervis- ory, Delinquent and the treasurer's report were adopted as read. Mr. Gordon paid tribute to the efficiency of the new treasurer-manager, Mrs. Sylvia Aylward, and her courtesy in meeting with the public. Dave Joyal, of the Lakehead District Credit Union Chapter and representative of Cuna Mutual Policy Owners, was the guest speaker, his skillful blending of past and present history of Credit Unions intent- ly followed by his audience. Jack Stokes, MLA, saying it was always good to be 'home' again, congratulated the Union on their obvious success, financially and their concern for their community, as indicated in their policy. The possibility of enlarging the present operation for the good of the community to provide better service for more people which has been recently suggested, should be given serious study, and as always, added he was proud to represent an area where individual opinions were joined for the better good. Pfizes during the evening were won by Arlene Hamil, Iris Lidkea, Fred Harness, Alvin Slater, Nick Racioppi and Cyril Sparkes. Music for dancing was provided by the Commisso Brothers.
