PAGE 16 TERRACE BAY NEWS FOURNIER: ; The funeral of the late Mrs. Baptiste Fournier, nee Rose Anna DesChamplane, whose death occurred on November 11, 1976 in hospital was 'conducted in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Schreiber on November 15, by Father F.J. Meyer, assisted by Father Antoni Sujar- czuk, of Terrace Bay. Prior to the service the Rosary was repeated in the King Funeral Home by the C.W.L. The honorary pall bearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were: Randy Fournier, Roger Fournier, Tommy Fournier and Patrick Webb. Active bearers were John McParland, Dennis McParland, Bryan Webb, Tommy Long, and Terry Singleton. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mrs. Fournier's immediate survivors are four sons --- Robert, of Terrace Bay; Herve, of Hull, Quebec; Raoul, of Terrace Bay and Henry of Toronto; four daughters - Simonne, Mrs. Edward Singleton of Schreiber; Lorette, Mrs. H. Mc- Parland of Schreiber; Rita, Mrs. Ray Herring of Dartmouth, N.S. and Margaret, Mrs. Morris Scraba, of North Bay; there are also fifty grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchild- ren, four sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Fournier was predeceased by her hus- "band in 1965, her daughter Yvonne, Mrs. Tom Webb in 1975 and three children in infancy. Mrs. Fournier, who was 78 years old, was born in Rimouski, Quebec and came with her hus- band in 1915 to live in Schreiber, remaining here, until ill health forced her to leave her home for Senior Citizens' residence. Her home, family and Church life were her chief interests, but her many old friends as well as her family, always admired her pride in her appearance, despite her ill health' for several years. , Among those attending the funeral, from out of town, were: Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Matte, North Bay; Mr. Herve Fournier, Hull; Henry Fournier, Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Scraba and family North Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Camile Poirier, Mr. and Mrs. John McParland, Thunder Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis McParland Dryden; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fournier and fam- ily, Mr. and Mrs. Raoul Fournier and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Singleton, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prill Mr. and Mrs. Tony Matush, of Terrace Bay; and many friends from Terrace Bay and Schreiber. SOCIAL: Mrs. Elvie Ambrose has returned home to St. Catherines after spending two weeks with her sister Mrs. Eileen Christianson. NOVEMBER 24, 1976 MR. NELSON SMITH GUEST SPEAKER Mrs. Anne Todesco presided for the Novem-- ber meeting of the Schreiber Women's Institute, with members answering the roll by describing the significance of Remembrance Day services to them. Following a two minute silence the National Anthem was sung. Motto for the meeting was "Restraints should be viewed as challenges and not res- traints". Among current events discussed were the recent elections in both the United States and Canada, pending improvements in education and the harmful effects of aspirin and chocolate milk. Members gave Mrs. John Spillane, treasurer, their donations to a bakeless bake sale, and tickets were distributed for a $25.00 draw. Mrs. Winnie Clemens read notes of apprecia- tion for flowers and cards from Mrs. Robert Winters and Mrs. Nettie Thrower, and a letter from Miss Helen McKercher of the Home Econom--- ics Branch who thanked the members for their past interest and support in Institute pro- grams, and hoped they'd continue to improve their standards in work and methods.
