Crowe of Schreiber cut the ribbon that allowed the doors to open to another public service building in this fast growing little community. STORK CLUB: The new hospital got off to a good start in the New Arrivals department when sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wig on Monday, October 29th and to Mr. and Mrs. Don Brearley on Thursday, November lst. The honour of having the firsf child born in the new hospital goes to Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Cool: of Schreiber, to whom the stork delivered a girl on Saturday, October 27th. For the previous five years, Waghorn's had rented a small shop. ~ AROUND THE TOWN: A miscellaneous Shower at the home of Mrs. Joyce Timpano was held Monday evening, honouring Mrs. Owen Laurenson, the former Margaret Sweet. Bob Wallwin and Fred Soughton returned home Sunday from Chicago where they attended as delegates, the National Safety Council Congress where Mr. Soughton was elected to the post of Chairman of. On October 26th the congregation of St. Andrew's United Church in Schreiber celebrated a double anniversary - 90th year of the founding of their local church and the 50th anniversary of the United Church of Canada. The actual date wes June 10, 1925 when the union between Methodists, some Presbyterians and other smaller groups took. place in Toronto. Welcome: Miss Penny Possamai from Sault Ste Maris. .
