OCTOBER 27, 1976 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 7 CHANGE IN SKATING .CLUBS GRANT: Cont'd. from pg.6 The following resignations were accepted with regret: Mrs. Pamela Achurch - Home Econom- ics Teacher, Lake Superior High School, effec- tive October 29, "1976, Mr. C.W. Mather - Assis- tant Superintendent of Business and Finance, effective November 5, 1976. "A new schedule of Registration Fees: for: Adult Evening Courses was established as fol- lows: i) Enrollment: 11 or more --- 50¢ per hour, 10 - 65¢ per hour, 9 - 80¢ per hour, 8 - $1.00 per hour. ii) Driver Education: Students - p $30.00, Adults - $50.00. iii) A pre-school or enrolled day student fee is: '25¢ per hour. Because of the special nature of the Skating Programs, a different arrangement was agreed to. Basically, the Board agreed to pay the lo- cal Skating Clubs a Grant in proportion to the number of student hours offered by each Skating Club rather than a flat rate, as was paid hith- erto. This will enable the local Skating Clubs to receive more financial support from the Board and, therefore, will permit more students to be involved in skating for a longer period during the season. A schedule for Figure Skating Grants was presented by Mr. Gouthro and accepted. In anticipation of American Can withdrawing their steam heating process for the Marathon High School, the Board is in the process of making alternative arrangements for heating the school. A cost figure for Heating Renova- tions Project has been received and an applic -ation is being made to the Ministry of Educa -tion for a grant to cover the cost. Fe Approval was given for the Caroline McMor- land School students to go to Toronto, May 30 - June 5, 1977, and also for a group of Lake Superior High School students to go to Spain, March 19 - 27, 1977, provided adequate finan- cial support can be obtained by those who are organizing the trips.: Cont's page 8 ....
