Maureen Pausky presided over a bake table that held a variety of goodies donated by the good cooks in Terrace Bay. Edna Ramsay convened the novelty Ie where hand knits, doll's bedding and stuffed animals caught the eye ofeearly Christmas shoppers. Addie Beaulieu was in charge of the doily raffle (kindly donated by Mrs. Baillie of Schreiber). The lucky winners were Ingrid Fournier, Terrace Bay and Donna McGrath, from Schreiber. A delightful Hobby Holly Cake, beautifully decorated and donated by Mary Roy of Terrace Bay was won by Denise Pineault. Mesdames Helmink, Kennedy, Allen, Sinotte and Pineault served coffee and a variety of pies to people enjoying the company of good friends. , while forgetting to count €310ries for just one more day. Many thanks to all who helped to make this event such a success. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEETING Senior Regent, Marielle Tardif chaired the October 5th meeting of the Women of the 'Moose. Betty Sweet of Chapter 950, Duncan, B.C. was a guest at the meeting. Mooseheart Chairman, Carmel Zborowski and her committee of Cindy Tremblay, Jackie Rob- erts, Chris Dunham and Mary Martinson were in charge of the Chapter Night Programme. Representing the children of Mooseheart were Tony and Elizabeth Zborowski and Sandy Nesbitt of Schreiber. From Terrace Bay, re- presentatives were Suwmanne Tardif and Jeanette Lacroix. These children presented hand made corsages to the ladies, then sang songs and acted out a play, all of which was very well done. Mario Commisso of Schreiber played both lively and soft tunes at the piano for every- one's enjoyment. Anne Stachiw was the lucky winner of a cookie jar which was the raffle prize. A most delicious lunch was served. Among the table decorations was a lovely centerpiece which was donated by Mary Martinson. Representing Lodge 1752 and Chapter 1426 at the Ontario Moose Convention in Niagara Falls were Sadie and John Benko and Harry and Alma Hart. Alma Hart was elected by Mooseheart as one of ten princesses in the Crowning of the Queen of Sponsors Pageant at the convention. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY On Monday, October 4th, the North of Sup- erior Separate School Board held a Profession -al Day in St. Martin Schoo, Terrace Bay, for all the teachers of this region. Father Francis Reed and the Catechetical Team from Sault Ste. Marie explained the Bible and its use in the classroom. Bishop.John O'Mara of Thunder Bay opened the sessions with prayer. Mr. P. Gillen, Director of Education, introduced Father Reed. Sister Gail McDonald from Thunder Bay, helped the teachers appreciate the use of the Word of God in meditative prayer. Father A. Greengrass and Father F. Meyer attended the sessions and concelebrated Mass with Bishop O'Mara, which closed a profitable day. ROBERT SERVICE POETRY RECITAL Charles Hayter, a professional actor re- siding in Toronto, visited the Lake Superior Public School in Terrace Bay on Friday, Octob- er 9th. Mr. Hayter recited the work of the famous Canadian poet, Robert Service. Such popular works as "The Grace", "The Ballod of Bessie's Boil" and two famous favourites, "The Cremation of Sam McGee" and "The Spell of The Yukon" were dramatized by Mr. Hayter.
