SEPTEMBER 22, 1976 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 7 HIGH SCHOOL HAPPENINGS It is the intention of the students and staff of Lake Superior High School to have a short column: in the paper each week. Hope- fully most of the items will come from the students. SOCCER: " Each afternoon from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. our soccer team is working out at the soccer pitch on the Mill Road, under the watchful eyes of their two coaches, John Vandergraaf and Bill McDougall. About twenty students have come out for the team. The coaches hope for a good season. Their first tournament is in Wawa on September 25th. GOLF : The Aguasabon Golf Club very generously waived green fees for twenty-four senior stu- dents of Lake Superior High School for an af- ternoon class of golf. The students and the Physicals Education class wish to express their thanks to the Club executive for their inter- est in the promotion of golf for our students. TRACK AND FIELD CLEANUP: Schreiber Campus students and staff put forth a concerted effort during the first full week of school improving the condition of the playing field. The houses were assigned var- ious parts of the field as their responsibil- ity to clean. The students and teachers alike picked up sticks, twigs, glass, cans, paper, rocks and other debris. This will make the field a much safer and cleaner area for physi- cal education classes. STUDENT COUNCIL AND ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION ELECTIONS: The school is divided into two campuses and each campus is divided into four houses with a Junior and Senior homeroom family. The junior homeroom is comprised of first and second year students and the senior of third, fourth and fifth year students. Students are assigned to a house when they enter high school and remain with the same house throughout their stay in school. Each campus has its own Students Council and Athletic Association. A member from each homeroom is elected to the Student Council and Athletic Association. The following students were elected on Sept. 16, 1976 to form the organization in both cam- pus.
