MAY 5, 1976 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 The "heart" of the Ontario Sports Travelcade is the mobile resource centre. As well as carrying hundreds of publications and audio- visual presentations, the 45 foot trailer pro- vides a site for clinics. If you think you hear a car horn playing a tune that sounds like Ontario-ari-o you aren't hearing things. That musical car horn announ- ces the arrival of the Ontario Sports Travel- cade. On May 29, Sports Travelcade will roll in to Terrace Bay for a two day visit. This big 45 foot red and white van is a travelling information centre all about sports. Its purpose is to give everybody in Terrace Bay athletes, coaches, trainers, managers and interested citizens an opportunity to get first hand information about sports, see films, slides, video tapes, read special sports books, and pick up information leaflets about a wide variety of sports. With the Sports Travelcade are sports and fitness specialists Larry Wright, Emily Fodor and John VanRhee to give you advice and assis- tance. When Culture and Recreation Minister Robert Welch launched the Sports Travelcade on its first visit, he said he hoped it would encour- age greater interest and participation in sports for fun and sports for excellence and that it would bring new and exciting resour- ces to Ontario communities to help them in their own sports programs.
