PAGE 22 TERRACE BAY NEWS i MAY 5, 1976 | MACADAM: The funeral of the late Mrs. Jessie Macadam, whose death occurred on April 24, was conducted on April 26 in St. And- rew's United Church in Schreiber by the Rev. B. Bigelow. Mrs. Eva Gordon sang a favourite hymn of ~ Mrs. Macadam's, "Dear God L., Forgive", accompanied by Mrs. Wendy Martin. The honorary pallbear- ers were Bruce Simon, Michael Didura, Denis Neylon, Robert Harris, W.T. Wallace, F.V. Har- ness and Austin Cosgrove. Active pallbearers were Jack Handel, John Spillane (nephews), Gino Caccamo, Rolland Martin, Borden Ross and Martin Ryan. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mrs. Macadam's immediate survivors are two sons - Gordon of White Rock, B.C. and Russell of Schreiber; two daughters - Joyce (Mrs. V.R. Nott) of Carrying Place, Ontario and Joan (Mrs. Radcliff Branch) of Westmount, Montreal, Quebec. There are also eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Macadam was predeceased by her husband Forbes Macadam in 1968. She came to Schreiber in 1900 at the age of seven from Mattawa and had lived here until 1971 when due to ill health she gave up her home and went to Pinewood. Court, Thunder Bay. Mrs. Macadam was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's United Church and its Ladies Aid, and later United.Church Women; a Charter and Life member of the Women's Institute, Schreiber Branch; a Charter member of the Ladies Auxil- iary to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 109; a member of Ruby Rebekah Lodge #279, since 1928 and a member of Silver Birch Chapter, 0.E.S. Terrace Bay. Mrs. Macadam sewed with the Victory Club for bombed out civilians in England during the second world war. The Legion Auxiliary, Ruby Rebekah Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star all held their burial rites at the Kinc Funeral Home prior to the Church service. ¥ "Jessie", to all of Schreiber, was a person | of legion Talents, her scope of accomplish- ments only limited by physical strength.
