A.W. DAMIS Forecast Period: April 18 to April 4 No matter how tempting a new proposition might seem...don't shift horses in mid-stream. Stay on course with your long term plans, things will materialize this week. This week, especially, consider yourself as a personality--aside from all others. Don't align your opinions with the beliefs of your _ associates. Your chart shows-- highly produc- tive ideas. Keep your schedule open, there's a promise you won't fulfill. Meaning? All commitments and obligations should be kept to a min- imum...failure to deliver, could be costly. Many under your sign contemplate joining a group. It would be a good idea to "think about it" until reports reach you about the time, ef- fort and cost involved. ; Stop looking for hidden motives and ra- tionalizations. Most members of your sign might be very suspicious, this week. Accept things at face value temporarily. You're not a student of the theory that everyone tells the truth. Nevertheless, you might be duped by a fast talker who promised you the "whole" world. ; This week, especially, you'll find the other sex, rather, hard to understand. But, when you get right down to it...it's your attitude that is at fault. You're going to learn a practical lesson in Psychology. Something you've planned, and believe is scheduled for someone else--will, in turn, backfire! Carelessness, someone else's, that is, might cause your job, task or project to bog down. The point? Don't lose your temper ; pick up the pieces and keep going. : The experience you've gained, concerning the opposite sex, has been too long in the past--to be of any value now! Your present relation- ship requires a new approach. The indecisiveness of someone in authority might be the reason for your being overlooked at you job or project. Look around for an op- portunity you might hear about. Bluntly, it's not a good time to buy. Many un- der your sign are prone to deception. Please, please steer clear of any "get rich schemes." LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Cont'd When compared with all other hospitals in On- tario, of similar size, the McCausland nursing unit was grossly overspent in nursing hours and dollars for 1975, a time period when our occupancy rate was about 50%. At the same time, these other hospitals (for example: Man- itouwadge, Marathon, Nipigon and Atikokan) serving communities no larger than that served by our hospital, are equipped with modern lab- oratory and x-ray facilities as well as nec- essary emergency room equipment such as card- iac monitors and defibrillators. In other words, these hospitals offer a standard of health care to their.communities that is not available here at the present time. You must answer one question for yourselves - do you want a Health Care program that will give the community first rate medical services commen- ~ surate with present day knowledge or are you satisfied with the status quo? choice! A time of change is inherently a time of stress and this is a time of great change for the McCausland Hospital. The hospital will need the support of the whole community in order to withstand the stresses involved in the metamorphosis from a hospital of the last decade to a modern comprehensive community health care centre. It is your RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED DR. K.W. WILKES DIRECTOR OF LABORATORY : MCCAUSLAND GENERAL HOSPITAL (signed) INFORMATION ONTARIO by Bev Young Last year at this time the Ministry of Con- sumer & Commercial Relations completed a study in Northwestern Ontario. This report entitled "Report of Consumer Education & Information Need in Northwestern Ontario" was released last summer. Copies are available from the Northern Affairs Office and the display stands at the municipal offices in Manitouwadge, Ter- race Bay & Schreiber. This report provides information and compar -isons of the ten communities surveyed, as well as, recommendations to improve the com- munication of consumer information, consumer education programs, and consumer relations.' It is rather interesting to this writer that the Ministry's first recommendation is to embark on a program of public awareness, and secondly "Wider Use of Northern Affairs Offic- es as a communication channel should be fos- tered.
