GRAY: 4 A memorial service, followed by cremation, was held after the death on March 4 of Robert Gray, in Victoria, B.C. The setfvice was held in St. Luke's Church. Mr. Gray, who was 73 years old, was born in Schreiber and had lived there until his retirement from the Car Department of C.P. Rail. After his retirement he went with his wife, the former Nellie Sly, to live in Vic- toria. He was predeceased by his brother Jim. He is survived by stepchildren Marjorie, (Mrs. Edward Downey) of St. Paul, Alberta; Gordon Sly of Montreal; Douglas Sly of Winnipeg and Sherril (Mrs. Dennis Craig) of Thunder Bay. A memorial service will be held in Schrei- SCHREIBER LEGION AUXILIARY APRIL MEETING A ten dollar donation to the local Kinsmen Cystic Fibrosis Campaign was made by the Lad- ies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion Br. 109 at their regular April meeting. A penny auction, with door prize, was plan- ned for May. The date is to be set later. Mrs. Lorraine Huard will convene the penny auc- tion assisted by Mesdames Venita McKenna, Daryl Weaver, Georgina Davis, Earline Johnson and Isabel Delaronde. Mrs. Doris Vallant, first vice president of the Provincial Council will be invited to at- tend the local auxiliary's birthday party on May 29. An invitation was received from White River auxiliary to attend their birthday party on May first. Members meaning to attend should contact Mrs. Beatrice McCuaig on or before Aprilil5. Mrs. Wendy Martin volunteered to call at the weekly social evenings. The Sports Committee reported it is purcha- sing new darts and counters for the dartboard and replacing rocks for the shuffle board. Mrs. McKenna thanked those who had donated to the March 17 social evening. All citizens of Schreiber who are interested in acting on a Board of this nature are requested to let their intentions be known to Council by letter. Council also invites all citizens who have any suggestions or comments to make concerning the operation of the cemetery to do so.
