Please refer to the arena schedule for details regarding these. programmes. Because of preparations for the opening ceremonies and the Figure Skating Show, there will be no public skating on Thursday or Friday of this week. HANDICAPPED RECREATION AND SPORTS CONFERENCE This coming Saturday, March 13th, a special meeting will be held at the Red Oak Inn in Thunder Bay to discuss such topics as Ontario Wheelchair Recreation and Sports Assoc- iation, Ontario Games for the Disabled and Therapeutic Rec- reation for the Handicapped and Disabled. Anyone who may be interested and whose position in the community relates to the above mentioned can certainly anny to attend. For fur- ther information, contact the Recreation Office. '"YOUAND YOUR CHILD IN HOCKEY"' The Onfario Ministry of Culture and Recreation in conjunc- tion with the Ontario Hockey Council have published the book . -let "You and Your Child in Hockey". A copy of this booklet has been received at the Recreation Office and copies should also have been received by the local Minor Hockey Associa- tion. The booklet would be of extreme interest to all parents in our community who have children enrolled in the Minor Hockey programme. For example, the following are some of the topics dealt with in the booklet: Kids Imitate Adults; It Is Their Game; Does Your Kid Really Appreciate Or Need Your Yelling?; It's A Game Not A War. Anyone wishing to read the booklet or obtain additional co- pies may do so by contacting the Recreation Office and we will*be more than happy to assist you in your request. UPHOLSTERY WORKSHOP The Recreation Office is pleased to announce that the 2 week Upholstery Workshop advertised in recent issues of the Terrace Bay News is presently in operation. This partic- ular programme is being offered in conjunction with Confed- eration College. At present the Recreation Office is attemp- ting to sponsor other programmes in which local people have indicated interest.
