Mrs. Usher stated there were 792 Member- ships in the Hospital Auxiliary for the year 1976. Our thanks to the school pupils who deliv- ered the General News Letter sent out by the Development Committee during Christmas week. PROFILE: This months Profile - Mrs. Joan Bichan - Director of Nursing at the McCausland Hospital. "Newcomers" to Terrace Bay will see that our Hospital is in very capable hands. Mrs. Bichan graduated from the Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing. She re- ceived her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from London, Ontario. During World War II, Mrs. Bichan was a Sub. Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Navy. She . served as Charge Nurse in the operating room at Greenock, Scotland and Digby, Nova Scotia. Mrs. Bichan has had much experience in nursing and as head nurse in gynecology, plastic and neuro surgery. She has instructed in Operating Room procedure at the Toronto General Hospital and was Clinical Coordinator for Operating Room, Intensive Care and Recov- ery Room. Prior to coming to Terrace Bay Mrs. Bichan was Clinical Instructor in Staff Education at the University Hospital, London, Ontario. Mrs. Bichan has now moved into her own home at 646 Superior Avenue. The Hospital is most fortunate in having a person with such experience, ability and de- dication as head of the nursing staff. Public Relations, McCausland Hospital. BOUCHIE, NAPOLEON: On January 23rd, 1976 at St. Boniface Hosp- ital, Napolion Bouchie aged 66 years of 61 Gilbert St., Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away. Born in Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba, August 14, 1909 Mr. Bouchie was a resident of Terrace Bay for twenty-seven years. Mr. Bouchie had resided in Winnipeg for the past six months. He was employed by Kimberly Clark of Canada, Terrace Bay for twenty-six years and retired August 1974. He is survived by his wife, Emma, seven children: Dennis, Kamloops, B.C.; Joan Salata, Gordon Grove, California; Patricia Gavan, Sudbury, Ontario; John, Winnipeg; Rick, Terrace Bay; Sheila, Winnipeg; and Bonita, Winnipeg. Three sisters, Isabel Jefferson, Selkirk,Man; Margaret Petrus, Selkirk, Man; and Mary Dube, Haywood, Manitoba; his grandchildren, Gail, Marty, Becky, Corrine and Khristine. Mr. Bouchie was predeceased by a brother, Alex. Mr. Bouchie rested in the Bardal Funeral Home in Winnipeg. Funeral services conducted by Father Gagne from Powerview were held in Lac du Bonnet where he was laid to rest. Pallbearers were Martin Gavan, Howard Bou- chie, Wayne Papineau, Pat Fontaine, Ian Font- aine and Louis Lawrence. Sudbury; Mr. and Mrs. W. Papineau, Schreiber; Lillian Lambert, Eagle River; Diane Keely, Edmonton and friends and relatives from Winn- ipeg and surrounding areas.
