WINTER CARNIVAL MEETING The 76 Winter Carnival Committee held a meeting in the Conference Room of the Recrea- tion Centre on Monday, Jan. 19, 1976. A good representation from various organizations was present. Gerry Dupas, Recreation Director chaired the meeting. He welcomed everyone and then proceeded to outline the responsibilities of a Winter Carnival Committee. The whole slate of officers was filled with an exceptionally interested group. Committee as follows: Chairpersons - David Luxmore, Claire Roen. Secretary - Geraldine Belliveau. Treasurer - Ethel Boyd. Publicity -. Pam Jones. Directors of Prize Committee - Evelyn Falzetta, Mary-Clara Kennedy. Direc- tors of King and Queen Contest - Sherri Jowitt and Mirielle Tardif. Directors of Carnival Parade - Carolyn Vanderkam, Kelly Helmink., Cirect®rs of Carnival Buttons - Terrace Bay . Guides/Rangers and Cadets. Director of Bro- chures - Gerry Dupas. Director for Business Contacts - Pam Adey. The date set for the Carnival is March 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th. RECREATION DEPARTMENT WEEKLY REPORT NORTH SHORE HOCKEY: The next scheduled game of the North Shore Minor Hockey League for Terrace Bay will be held this Thursday, January 29th, when Schrei- ber Midgets will be playing the Terrace Bay Midgets. Game time is 7:30 p.m. CARROLL BAKER TO APPEAR IN TERRACE BAY ON FERRUARY llth: On Wednesday, February llth, the Carroll ~ Baker Show will be held at the High School Auditorium commencing at 8:00 p.m. Posters and advance ticket outlets have been estab- lished in Terrace Bay, Schreiber and MECO campsite. For your information, admission prices will be as follows: Adults - advance tickets $3.50; at door $4.00; Children 12 years of age and under and senior citizens - $2.50 advance, $3.00 at the door. For more details on this concert, simply refer to posters that have been placed uptown. JUNIOR BADMINTON PROGRAMME : Registrations for this particular programme took place on Saturday, January 24th. A total of 26 players registered for this programme | and sessions will get underway this coming Saturday, January 31st, at the High School ! Auditorium. Instructor for this programme is Rosalind Kenney. ; 4 YOGA AND CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: The Recreation Office is still attempting to get details from Confederation College con- cerning these two programmes. We are hopeful that in the near future we will be able to offer these programmes to those who have indi -cated interest.
