It was resolved that By-Law No. 28 be app- roved. Being a by-law to allow borrowing, from time to time, from the Bank of Montreal by way of a promissory note a sum or sums not exceeding in the aggregate the sum of Five Hundred Thousand dollars to meet, until the current revenue has been received, the cur- rent expenditures of The Lake Superior Board of Education for the year 1976. The Board approved the 1976 Membership in the following Trustees' Associations: a) Northern Ontario Public and Secondary School Trustees' Association - $100.00 b) Affiliation with The Ontario School Trustees' Council ~- $1,363.00 c) Ontario Separate School Trustees' Associa= tion - $40.00 Notice was received from The Ontario School Trustees' Council that a Provincial Salary Conference would be held in Toronto on Feb. 6, 1976 and Feb. 7, 1276. The theme of the conference will be "Bill 100 - Experience". The Board was encouraged to register those Trustees involved with Board-Teacher salary negotiations along with their Senior Adminis- trator. It was resolved that this Board support The York County Board of Education regarding their submission to the Minister of Education concerning a change in guidelines that Boards must follow in establishing a need for addi- tional classroom space from the present 35 to a more realistic figure, and that The York County Board be advised of this Board's supp- ort. Letters of appreciation from the Principals and Staff were read concerning the Annual Christmas Party given by the Board. ! The Director was asked to talk with the Ministry of Education concerning the progress of plans for extending the existing Industrial Arts Shop in Manitouwadge High School.
